IAEP and company are ruining your relationship with fire. They have made a deal with fire to threaten EMS employees to stay with them. How are the Fire depts. Expecting to get paid back by SEIU to send out their threat to 250 members. Which county did 250/IAEP sell out to them. They have just put a strain on our working relationships with fire. We have to work together everyday on calls and SEIU thinks its ok to pit each of us against each other. How do you think the Fire Fighters you work with every day feel about this deal. How do you think the public is going to feel once they know SEIU is promoting disharmony between us and fire just to intimidate us into staying in their union. NEMSA wants to work with fire to help make things better on both sides. 250 wants to destroy community services between agencies just to try and make its members stay with them. Go ahead and Stay with 250/IAEP But don’t start crying when fire comes to collect on the deal 250/IAEP made with them to threaten you.
How is this a threat from NEMSA, SEIU/NAGE/IAEP made the DEAL with FIRE. They are the ones that are going to have to pay fire back for their letter. Its fact.
Before NEMSA can work with the fire departments, it first has to convince them to not take over transports. You guys got a lot of work to do in San Mateo.
I checked the Bylaws, "dude" and the initiation fee is only applicable to the new hires, not the already existing members who will be switched over from 250. Since they already paid an initiation fee. Duh!
"Article IV, section 4: Application for membership
Application for membership shall be submitted to the Board in a manner the Board deems appropriate. Any person seeking membership shall be required to sign an application, which may contain a statement that such person agrees to abide by the Bylaws and any other rules and regulations properly adopted by the Board of membership. In addition, any new Regular Member shall also sign a dues check-off card authorizing their employer to deduct the emplyee's membership fees, dues and assessments. The Board shall act upon each application within a reasonable time after submission, or at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting, wichever comes later.
Section 5:
Each Regular member must pay, within the time and on the conditions set by the Board, membership fees, dues and assessments in amounts set forth in these Bylaws or as may be fixed from time to time by the members."
There will be no initiation fee for the members who are going to be transferred from SEIU Local 250.
Since none of us are current members of NEMSA, if we vote them in wouldn't we all be *new* regular members and subject to the initiation fee. That is how the bylaws read. Or am I looking too closely again? If I'm looking too closely just let me know and I'll stop. I'm having problems with that lately.

Well...there you go again Nemsa Lover........Article 4, MEMBERS, SECTION 5, ends with:
"Each regular member must pay, within the time and on the conditions set by the Board, membership fees, dues, and assessments in amounts set forth in these Bylaws or as may be fixed from time to time by the members."
There is no sentence that reads, "There will be no initiation fee for the members who are going to be transfered from SEIU Local 250."
Spin, spin, spin, spin, amazing!!!!! Their is no sentance that says that their will be initiation fees. How do you like those apples? And yes Snake you are lookinig too closley at the wording. Please step away from the computer and take a breath. NEMSA has stated their position on this subject multiple times. Can we please move on and bury the dog. I think you guys have beat it enough. You guys just amazing me.....
Application for membership shall be submitted to the board in a manner the board deems appropriate.
How often will the board change what they deem appropriate. If I were on the board, I could have a lot of fun at the expense of people trying to get in the private club. Associations and Unions are private clubs. You could force people to go out to the forest, find the largest tree, and cut it down with a pickeled herring.
