In the past, when we have asked NEMSA’s self appointed president, Torren Colcord what dues we would be paying, we have gotten a number of different answers…$55.00 per month…$40.00 per month…The same as what you are paying now (this is one of their current headlines on the NEMSA homepage. Well, after much checking and research, I am in receipt of NEMSA’s incorporation documents and their Constitution, filed as a legal document with the Secretary of States office on March 26, 2004. In Article 12, DUES, it states that dues will be 2% of gross earnings, not to exceed $120.00 per month.
$120.00 PER MONTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t believe me, you can click HERE and see for yourself.
* NOTE TORREN AND Thomas Nipper's SIGNATURES IF YOU DOUBT ITS AUTHENTICITY
Again you people only tell half the truth. Now put up the resolution that clearly states that the dues for current SEIU local 250 members will be the same and the initiaton fee is waved. But of course you would not put that up because it does not serve your twisted purposes.
But since you left that little piece out I will go ahead and correct you.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the initiation fee for membership specified in Article XII, Section 3 of the Constitution and Bylaws is hereby waived for all persons admitted as Regular members of the Corporation who were previously represented by the Health Care Workers Union, Local 250, SEIU, AFL-CIO; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the monthly dues for Regular members of the Corporation who were previously represented by the Health Care Workers Union, Local 250, SEIU, AFL-CIO shall not substantially change and that the dues paid by those members be the same or substantially similar to the amounts paid to the Health Care Workers Union, Local 250, SEIU, AFL-CIO as of April 1, 2004; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the monthly dues for Regular members of the Corporation shall be paid by means of an automatic payroll deduction authorized by each member, which shall be forwarded by the member’s employer to the Corporation. Payroll deductions for Regular members of the Corporation who were previously represented by the Health Care Workers Union, Local 250, SEIU, AFL-CIO shall be made on the same frequency as the payroll deductions authorized while members of the Health Care Workers Union, Local 250, SEIU, AFL-CIO.
So, let me get this straight. With NEMSA, my dues will more than double (which is more than 4 times the IAEP dues). I'll lose the protection of the AFL-CIO, have no political clout in local, state or national issues, pay more for worse health coverage, risk losing my right to arbitration, have self appointed leadership, have no support to take on the new ownership of AMR, not have the power to fight off the firefighters.
And I get all this for the low, low cost of 4 time what the IAEP dues are!!!
What resolution........I scowered NEMSA's Constitution and Bylaws...there is no resolution. Actually, the dues structure cannot be changed without a vote of the membership. I called Oak Valley and talked to a paramedic who said they have never had a vote on what the dues would be...they were told what it was going to be........RESOLUTION.........HA! Hey Medic One, have you even read your own constitutions and bylaws???????? Stay Cool, Bro!
Hey look up. Ask and ye shall recieve. The resolution is in place. Go ahead and ask the oakvalley members how much they pay. They are paying exactly what they were paying under 250. Just keep lying, at least your consistant.
Jeez Medic One - your sounding really scared. I know you want us all to vote in NEMSA so they won't go bankrupt and you get screwed out there in San Mateo. But, we aren't biting. NEMSA's incorporation documents and constitution, that were filed with the state, are clear. NEMSA's dues structure is 2% (which we all voted against 3 years ago -- remember that?) up to $120
I think it's time you stop debating us and start trying to figure out how you are going to save your job from being taken over by fire
Actually medic one, your own Constitution and Bylaws say that members must vote to change the dues structure...Article 17, AMENDMENTS, Section 2.A: NEW BYLAWS. "New Bylaws may be adopted, or these Bylaws may be amended or repealed by approval of the voting members."
THERE WAS NO VOTE!!!!!!!!!!
END OF STORY!!!!!!!!!!!
Torren got caught in a lie and now he is trying to cover it up........
Tell me smart guy when were the resolutions adopted? When did NEMSA have its first members?
You are all knowing please tell us. And in case you don't know; you are not a member of NEMSA yet, but when you are you will be afforded the same rights under the law and bylaws that all the other members are, and I truly hope you take advantage of all those rights. I really don't think NEMSA is afraid of anybody looking at books, giving input, sitting on committees, Voting on any issues etc. As Torren said in the debate tonight, NEMSA is run by the members. But there is this funny thing that needs to happen. It is called a vote you know a vote. Something that seems foreign to IAEP or Local 250. You know, the two SEIU unions that had the secret meeting where 3 people decided the fate of 2,361 members. Tell me again how that works.
Medic One and Shadowfax, go have drinks with Love is Blind, I mean NEMSA Lover, and sit this one out.
All there books and By-Laws are open? Give me a break. Numerous requests for a solid business/ financial / staff plan went ignored by me. I was even told my requests were non-sensical. I was never even allowed to see the "ratified" constitution and by-laws for NEMSA. This was before I had made a decision. The "Resolution" that was presented at the debate hadn't been filed at the state originally. So, I guess Oak Valley and San Mateo voted for that change? They should be running NEMSA now according to the by-law section you've shown.
Now you say you have to be a member to see these things? You've got to be kidding. What organization, or "business" as Dave Turner has so insightfully described NEMSA, ever operates like that!
To answer your other ramblings, see the last post under NEMSA site closes during reasonable debate .
Love is Blind. I guess I'm heartless.
