More incredulous rhetoric from NEMSA. These following passages are directly from their site:
Screw your 4x4 adventure. I hope you run out of gas, break your ride in BFE and catch the flu. Oh did I forget bit by a mosquito with West Nile Virus and herps from your 250 buddies
That was in response to Jonathan Sahagun's attempt to get both sides together for some fun amidst all the turmoil. You say you want more, did you? How about this:
nice 250 staffer....... ummm I know your not very smart , but I try and say this slowly.... ready? L O C A L 2 5 0 S T I L L C O L L E C T S O U R D U E S, so it's Local 250 / IAEP to us.
wow... were do they find you people..........
go away,
losers
That was in response to again attempts to bring people on board. How about this lovely little soundbyte:
YES your pop-culture is way beyond me.
I don't believe in chaining myself around trees in protest, marching for animal rights and chanting peace slogans while sipping my latte. LOSER
and I really don't believe in making stupid remarks like YOURS........... FREAK
shoooo vermin, go away
It is clear the type of campaign the few hold-outs at NEMSA has in store. Insults, homicidal threats, more insults, sexual accusations, and utter lunacy. This organization is crumbling, and now our folks in San Mateo will have to pay that price. I do feel sorry for them. They were the first to vote and they had no idea of the type of organization they wound up with. A post was made on their message board asking if there was anything the IAEP could do to help San Mateo. Yes, there is; for Torren to sign a service agreement with IAEP bringing these folks back on board so that they can be represented properly. This will never happen for one reason only, his ego.
The letter Bonifay wrote quite clearly did not teach NEMSA anything; just look at the lunacy coming from them. ValleyEMT has asked Torren, twice I might add, if Tim Bonifay was wrong about what he did. No answer from Torren, the person ultimately responsible for NEMSA. No acceptance of responsibility.
It is appearant that insults are flying in spite of friendly attempts made by Mr. Sahagun whom I truly believe is sincere about all of us coming together and uniting, or to at least be friendly.
The replies are obviously from an extremely upset NEMSITE. I noticed on another thread that Old Rhino likened our situation to the Civil War. His message was poignant and deserving of respectful pause. Old Rhino said that this problem has been years in the making, people can't get over their beliefs and emotions in a week.
Once the NLRB makes its' final ruling, one leader will have to make the Gettysburg Address.
All the guy wanted to do is take people on a 4x4 adventure. He cared less whether they were from NEMSA or IAEP. He, in fact, was hoping NEMSA folks would join in. I hope the insults of one will not spoil the fun for many.
He also had offered the 4X4 trip before the vote was counted and everyone (including Torren) thought it was a great idea and agreed to go. Where did all the unity go? If NEMSA has won I would be working with them, going 4 wheeling, and trying to make a union better. Everyone thought that was a great idea when they were assurred of winning.

NEMSA is really stepping it up when it comes to acountability! I guess all these homophobic and maniacal views are examples of "Strenght Through Service". its,..its..its... Awesome......
Sorry "Too Scared to post my name", but your comments are being ignored more and more due to your inability to say who you are. Anyways, when we see tims letter, which has homophobic tones, I'm sorry, but that is just going to turn people off. If you have a problem with it, maybe you should talk to tim, not us, the members have a right to be turned off by a horrible, and gross letter. Sorry dude, why don't you go check yourself into a reality clinic and try doing something other then sitting online all day trying to live out your NEMSA Drama 90210. -nate
It would not make sense to be a supporter of NEMSA while being gay. Those conflicts are pretty deep. How could a proud gay person live with themself knowing that the founder of NEMSA could write a letter about "sexual practice" which we know means gay, and then potentially commit a hate crime when he describes how he dreams of chopping him up with a machete. Assault on gays is a hate crime. I have a hard time believing that any gay person would tolerate that letter. It is obvious that there are no gays in the ranks of NEMSA based solely on the silence after the proud posting of that letter.
medic one, your creepin me out there "big guy"! keep your hands to yourself, jeez. Oh yeah while your at it, I suggest you start listening to your membership before they decide you have stabbed them in the back because you are not including them with the move forward ok "big guy"? If you are such a private EMS advocate, then where are you? I don't see you out here talking to members, meeting new people, getting off your butt (which sits behind a computer all day throwing insults) and actually making a difference. Still too scared to post your name ? thought so.. -nate P.S. stopping being such a creepy guy, people don't like it. And also, some of us may choose to reply to you or not, but the fact is no one really takes your comments/insults/immaturity seriously anymore. I admit, your NEMSA Drama 90210 can be entertaining sometimes... Entertaining like a crappy TV show though. Keep it real, see ya at the next stockton meeting.
For all intensive purposes, I never really get the feeling that the gay community supports right-wing organizations, which NEMSA has made very clear that it is.
Right-wing politics and the gay community...not a whole lot of love lost there.
