Sold Out!

The new release of Star Wars on DVD was sold out!

Now I guess I'm stuck reviewing the message boards.  I illegally hopped over to the NEMSA site and saw that there are no posts today.  Kind of creepy, silence usually means trouble.  Especially when M_O is calling for a full scale attack.

I'll leave the wars to Lucas and Equus.

Maniac,

NEMSA has removed most of the postings about how COCO sold out the members.

Most of the NEMSA site is gone.  There is nothing current.  NEMSA seems to have fallen apart.  How is San Mateo going to cope with this issue?

The Bonifay letter needs to be pasted back onto the front page of the forum, in fact, since he is so proud of that letter, it should have a permanent home on the IAEP page.

Now it is time to rattle:  Why are all of the E-mail contacts for the IAEP leaders @NAGE?  If IAEP is so big time, why don't the E-mail contacts say @IAEP?  When a leader (staffer) from IAEP gets a paycheck, who signs it and what is the business name on the check?

Forfend,

IAEP is a division of NAGE. Many years ago SEIU and NAGE came together.

Anyways<glare>...I got distracted....You can go to the homepage for NAGE and read all the background for yourself, that way, no spin from anyone. Just you and history

I just reviewed the service agreement between SEIU and IAEP.  250 got the better end of the deal language wise.  Does anybody know how the 250 leadership feels about us?  Are they glad to be rid of us?  Do they wish we were still part of them?  I have not seen a farewell, good luck from the 250 leadership.

IAEP has a big responsibility taking us on.  The agreement does hold accountability in there which serves us well.

on another note.. or rather, a reopening of the original topic....

why is NEMSA so quiet lately?? Why do they insist on champaining for a vote that's already done? They can contest it all they want, but we all know that by the time that comes about through the NLRB.... well... let's just say.. it could be a loooooooooooooooong time from now... just like grievences that are tossed on their desk.. there are more pressing matters....

And another thing... how come we aren't hearing about NEMSA going to other contracts and non-union company employee's and bringing them "into the fold", for lack of better words. I thought NEMSA was for EMS, by EMS, so on and so forth... AMR is NOT the only company out there that does EMS or has EMT's, Paramedics, etc, etc... at least no in my neck of the woods. So, how come they aren't expanding their holdings in that direction.. and if they are, how come they are being so quiet about it? It's certainly not like NEMSA to be quiet about anything, particularly when it comes to money.. I mean representing people properly.. sorry....

I just wonder what the heck is really going on over there. The opening page hasn't been updated since before the vote and.. that's unusual.. especially since they are pushing for support to contest the vote.. you'd think there would be a list of "suggestions" for people to "write letters" concerning their feelings of persuasion and intimidation... or a result of the vote and something to soothe their followers and let them know what to do and how to vent.

I don't know.. maybe I'm fishing in an empty pond here, but I'd hope there would be some answers out there... Course these fish are mighty nasty, might bite off my toes since I'm looking for answers... perhaps this topic is listed under the topic of "not publisizing internal dealings" or some such thing, and only one person has the key to that cabinet...... or a few people that don't feel like sharing..... You know you can post as NA ( Nemsa Annonymos) if that's what it takes to get questions answered. Or.......a few "other" letters

Well put.

There are a lot of small companies with employees that could use help.

The fish you are going to catch are Pike.  They will get your toes.

The silence could be a reckoning and a time to recover.  Those people worked hard and put a lot of energy into moving EMS out of SEIU.

LOL!! Pike.. that's... perfect analogy...

I guess the silence could be just that....  still odd.. but understandable when you put it like that....

As I understand it 250 isnt really happy to be rid of us per say but they dont want much to do with us.  We made them look pretty bad and although they got out looking ok with the IAEP deal I dont think they have alot of super kind feelings about us.  I know they have agreed to continue with old grievences they had but for any new ones they have let people know in no uncertain terms that we are on our own.  If I were a 250 staffer I dont think I would be too excited about the things that both sides were saying about 250.  most of us who voted for 250 did so to get IAEP and not because we thought 250 was a great union to represent us.  So, while they are happy to have won the election I dont think they are too pleased with us.  Thats just the feeling I have been getting.

On another note, I usually dont do this but I perorderd the Star Wars DVDs and they shipped overnight on monday and there they were on my porch yesterday afternoon.  Ohhhhhhhhhhhh. Star Warsssssssss.  I dont like some of the changes made!  After people have a chance to see it we need to start a posting thread on the new Star Wars.  I have alot to say about it.

Brad

Everyone,

NEMSA has made their objections to the NLRB. There were a total of 11 objections they made by their attorney Tim Talbot. Here's the interesting part, 5 of the 11 objections were pointed at the NLRB itself. Now....<pensive>I didn't graduate from law school, but Talbot didn't graduate from Finishing School either. You ask from the NLRB considerations, then almost half of your objections are at them? Go figure. Objections were directed at AMR. One at the IAFF. Then whatever else at SEIU.

NEMSA is forgetting to blame themselves for not being able to get their vote out. That's what this comes down to.

Thank you,

Rod Billings, Shop Steward AMR CoCo Operations

I still can't find a copy of Star Wars on DVD.

As for selling out, I just can't say enough about the new NEMSA image and how suprised I will be if "EMS professionals" around the world embrace such a...............................................

sissy looking site <sls>

I have to admit that I really enjoyed the original flash intro.  I would watch it a couple times a day in addition to the log in.  EMS needs to be tense, not relaxed and mellow.  I will admit that when the original flash intro started their sing/talk, that was sissy.  Sounded like a retro Sugar Hill Gang meets KC and the Sunshine Band.

The music brings images of pastel polos and dockers, a managers uniform. No musical taste for fear of commitment.

YES!  YES!  That's IT!  A managers uniform.  Non-commital style without any sense of what lies beneath the clothes, except disappointment.  Music that affirms that style.  Brilliant.
