I was getting to like IAEP because they said that they are for EMS. The first newsletter that I get from them however, Insults my president. Most of us new employees may not, as I said before, know much about union politics, but we do know what president we want to vote for. IAEP doesn't need to tell us that.
Also, we heard that we can donate our union dues to charity. A lot uf us want to do that now! so I hope that the IAEP people or whoever, can help us out with that.
My personal beliefs and faith and how I vote takes me where I can no longer support IAEP. Whoever feels the same way, please search your heart and you'll know that maybe you should not support IAEP anymore either.
Your strategy is apparent. Weak it is. Vote for whoever the h**l you want to. Your union has made an endorsement based on labor issues. If you don't care about those issues, vote for whoever you want. Your union isn't in the voting booth with you. They've just shared their assessment with you.
What is stopping you from organizing charity efforts right now? Do you not want to put your own money where your heart is? For Pete's sake, this is a labor union, not a philanthropist organization. If you want to have money set aside for local charities in your community get involved in the by-laws so you can stipulate how the money that returns to your local is dispursed.
First off Michelle, the newsletter doesnt insult the prez, it calls into question his drive to do away with mandatory OT pay. unless you are living off a trust fund and working as an EMT for kicks you need OT pay to live on. I know I couldnt get by on straight time when I pull an extra shift. And you say your were starting to support the IAEP but one small 2 page newsletter has turned your beliefs around? If you are swayed that easily then let me have your address and Ill send you a new pamphlet that will have you back on board in no time. No one is saying you cant choose your own candidate for prez. IAEP is stateing that they are charged with addressing our working needs and as such they need to support Kerry. If you have other issues in your personal life that trump (no pun intended) your paycheck then by all means choose the candidate that is best for you.
And Erin, yes this is a labor union, which makes it a defacto philanthropist organization. Philanthropy is defined as taking an active effort to promote human welfare, something I hope we are doing with out union. But I agree, nitpicking the charity efforts of IAEP is just another excuse to have a reason to complain. If you arent involved in charitable concerns in your life already dont blame your union for not getting you involved. If anyone needs a charity to donate to just contact me. Im going to El Salvador in Jan and I could let you know where to send money, clothes, school supplies, and medical supplies to help people out. I also build and repair houses in the summers in mexico and on reservations and I would love some help if anyone is interested. Its tons of fun!!!!
And Vernon, Why? What purpose do you serve here? does this fulfill you in some way? stay positive. I hope your life brings you joy because this forum certainly doesnt.

Michelle is the most pathetic little girl currently staffing an ambulance. I bet that she is like a lot of the other quickly replaced little girls that try desperately to fit in and get squashed like a bug. Or pecked like a chicken.
In fact, Michelle is like a chicken in a roost that squawks and squaks unintelligible gibberish as chickens peck at each other over limited supplies of food.
I think that there is no need to be nice to Michelle since she is obviously making an inferior attempt to damage unity in the labor group.
See ya out there..............
And like Medic One always says to Strife in a most grim way,
"And Nate, be safe"
Oh that is so creepy, makes me think of prison rape.
You guys speak of how NEMSA talks to people.....Take a look at your selves....I hope I don’t have to hear any more hypocritical B.S. on this subject again.....After all the whining you guys have done about NEMSA.....Michelle does not deserve this sort of treatment
Michelle has her reasons for her own political affiliation. If she chooses not to support her union because we are not endorsing Bush, that is also her prerogative.
At this point, despite Democrats support for labor, I will most likely be supporting Bush. This is not an endorsement for the Republican party. I have my reasons for voting this way, which I will keep private. However, I'll be dam*ned if I stop supporting the union that is doing its best to attain a better workplace for me. That just doesn't seem logical.
I do not know why Forfend has decided to come out so harshly, but since I do not know who this person is, maybe there is some previous encounters between Michelle and Forfend that the rest of us are not aware of. I would hope that Michelle can still support her choice of president while maintaining support of her union simultaneously.
WHOOOOOOOO!!!! What is up with the post Forfend???? You don't like girls now working in the field???? What the H*LL is up with that!
I don't remember any posts written by Michelle that merit a response like this one... concerns about the presidential election are more then warrented.. I personally don't support Kerry either, but I don't support Bush, because for my own reasons.. I just don't happen to care which way any union leans because in the end, I have the ultimate say by voting however I like. Unions have to support politicians at some point, I don't pay into COPE..ssoooo.... they don't use my money for him anyway.....
And what do you care if she want's to "marry some ambulance guy"... after a post like that.. I don't think you have to worry about any girl coming and barking up your tree, let alone Michelle.

I am a paramedic that has watched my workplace go down because psychopaths tried to decert a union so they could run the show. Or should I say the coop.
Get a grip on the whole female thing. There are women in EMS and there are women in EMS. Come on now, you know the difference. How come none of you had a problem with me bagging on your husbands?
I have no relationship with Michelle. I have judged her solely by what I have read.
You maybe a paramedic but where do you get off calling Michelle a stupid person. If you were so smart you wouldn't be on this forum acting so stupid yourself...Have you ever asked how come the higher ups in IAEP never update their webpage. or let the membership know if President Holway ever received an answer from CEO Sanger about the sale of AMR.
Why should we keep knocking each other down...This is my first post, but couldn't let you get away with your stupid remarks anymore.
I am neither NEMSA or IAEP right now.. I haven't had the privilege of voting yes or no on IAEP. I still am a member of SEIU Local 250.. If any of you don't like this thread...tough...live with it..
How about getting down to union matters instead of making this a childish forum....thanks
I don't know Michelle, but everyone has the right to their own opinions.....remember be nice, you can say things about people but "be nice about it".
Look I am signing my post.....

I was a very progressive questioner prior to the assaults laid on this site from highly civilized persons like Medic One. Many of the IAEP folks have shown more solidarity for individuals that would sneak into the IAEP camp, sit by the fire and get cozy, slit the throats of IAEP and sneak out, than they have shown solidarity for people that would insure another decert doesn't happen.
Grumpy old man, bring it. You defend a dork like emtMichelle/Alis that is here to try to divert attention from moving forward. Somebody has to squash these dunder heads. Since IAEP won't do it, I guess I have to be the nasty B*tch and get down to it.
So why don't you go to the campfire and sing songs, I'll make sure the woods are still.
