Forfend's reply

Hi there,

I was very sad to see the reponse I got from FORFEND. As I told all of you, I am new to EMS.I didn't think that one woman would do this to another. You may not think that being an EMT and a woman is not much, but I am proud of myself. And some of your friends on this site seem to agree with me.

Anyways, since a lot of my coworkers don't take the time to go on this site, I decided to bring it to them. I posted forfends message on our employee board at our ops center. Also, I posted some of the kinder replys to be fair. But forfend wants to "smack me down"? I think maybe she's is the liar. No woman would talk to another woman that way.that's guy talk.

I hope that "men" like forfend  don't think they can just feel free and attack women on this site.

As to how I will vote is purely my business, for me it is a matter of the heart. IAEP may not support republicans, but a lot of us here do, and we are not happy that our union dues will be spent on something we don't support. I know that maybe hard to understand, but for us it is like this...It is the same to us as if our union dues were to go and pay for abortions. Even if what you say is true, that republicans are bad for EMS is true, when it comes to the president, we have to make a personal choice, so please understand this and don't attack me for that.

IAEP can go ahead and send us stuff, but we want it to be about EMS, not attacking my personal choice.

And why do all of you say I support NEMSA. I hardly know anything about them, as most of us here don't. But we are getting to know IAEP now. We are mostly new people here, so many of us were not even hired when all this voting was going on, so all we know is that we are with IAEP now. IAEP had only one meeting here since the vote so we haven't seen anyone from them. So that's why I am here,to find out what's going on and talk to my friends about it.

As to forfend not wanting to be a role model and quoting Charles Barkley, how sad for you!, you must be a man! a woman would never even think that! we are not that selfish!...of course iI don't think that all men are that way either xoxoxoxox

So you are still going to pretend that you are a new employee.

I guess that you have not realized that your scheme does not work.

I would have to assume that when you take money shots on your face that you feel like you are making friends for life.

As for me being a liar because you are a "twit" (that is a word a woman uses) you can continue to pretend that you are a sweet new person being victimized.  I am glad that my responses have made it to your board.  Keep up the good work, "twit".

For those of you that don't know what a twit is, ask Alis or even Michelle the alter ego.

Well , like I said. you are a sad and selfish person, and frankly ,I hope some of your friends here will "smack" you down. I am glad that you don't want to be a leader at IAEP.you shoulnd't!!! I will not write you back anymore, there is plenty of nicer people on this site, that probably would be honored to be role models and represent IAEP.

I hope I don't see you out there!!!

Michelle, or should I say Alis,

I am not a sad and selfish person.  I am a bitter and ****ed off divorcee.  I was happily married to SEIU Local 250.  I never saw anything that made me believe that they were corrupt.  I never saw a reason to decertify.  A bunch of mouth breathing, pasty bubbas got together and thought that it would be a great idea if they started to represent us.

They had new trucks, they would have meals paid for (very important among overweight men) fuel paid for their gas guzzling trucks, travel, and not to mention, they could finally get out of the field.

So new employee, you decided to waltz in to a hornets nest and you've been stung, how tragic.

Now as for the nice people of IAEP, they have been giving me smack down on threads and even more powerfully in private messages.  They do not want bickering to continue.  I'm sorry to the nice people of IAEP but I am not over the unnecessary divorce I've been put through.  I will continue to attack liars and vermin as I see fit.

See ya out there..........

Oh yeah Michelle/Alis,

Thank you for posting my material on the board at work.  Hopefully that will bring me some more playmates.

I am staying out of the personal conflict going on here but I would like to clarify one thing for michelle.  You union dues have not, and will not be used to support a political candidate.  The lobbying money that SEIU uses comes from a COPE fund that is paid for through private volunteer donations.  Im sure you will recieve a mailer at some point inviting you to start paying into COPE.  If you dont support the political views of SEIU then you shouldnt give money to their COPE fund, its that easy.  It is illegal (as far as I know) for a union to use dues money to lobby a candidate or donate to a campaign fund.  So be assured your dues are not used to fight against your political beliefs.  The only way for the union to use your money for lobbying is if you volunteer to give them extra, and it sounds like that is something you would not support, so dont pay into COPE.  I dont pay into COPE and I support some of the same issues that SEIU does but I want the ability to decided 100% where my money goes and if SEIU decided to use my money to support something I dont belive in I wouldnt feel OK with that.  Its your choice, make the one that is right for you.

Brad,

You are actually incorrect.  I do not mean that to be insulting.  Many of us have called the NLRB about this issue and have received the following information:   While it is correct that COPE funds are ONLY used for politics.  Member’s dues can, have and are used on politics and other projects.  By virtue of membership you approve of the union's use of your dues for whatever they see fit.  The difference between COPE and the dues is that the dues must also be used for representation cost, but they are not restricted by any law that they are not to be used for any political purpose for which the union decides to participate in.  The only time that someone's dues cannot be used for politics, or anything unrelated to representation, is if they are what is called a Beck objector.  Then the only thing they pay is the cost of actual contract representation.  These people are called fee payers and pay less in dues than "normal" members.

Check with the NLRB

"Money shots on your face" Congratulations, That has to be the new low for any posting on either message forum.

I find it very hypocritical and funny that every word or sentence muttered by an NEMSA supporter was taken as speaking for the whole organization, regardless of who said it.....If we apply the IAEP standard of quoting to this then Forfend an IAEP supporter is speaking for all of IAEP, its standards and ethics.....Hey fair is fair, you’ve done it to NEMSA now you live by your supporters quotes. Besides, since forfend wont identify him/herself how do we know its not one of the fab 5's alter ego’s or one of our new Boston IAEP friends......Since this is probably one of the fab 5's alter ego’s and this person obviously has a mental defect, I guess we should start referring to IAEP supporters as " Jerry’s Kid’s".....

You want to judge NEMSA by every comment anyone has ever made, then reap what you sow.

As a NEMSA supporter I would like to apologize to anyone who has come to this site to seek information.....It obvious that IAEP only wants to degrade and ridicule you.....Since this site posts from many of the possible future IAEP leadership people or at the least people that wish to be involved in the creation of their new IAEP local....Then the quality and dignity of their posts should show as proof to you the quality and dignity of the IAEP local they will create....If you would like to have your questions answered in a professional and dignified manner please come to the NEMSA web site www.nemsausa.org and e-mail your questions.....I can promise you that you wont be responded to in the same fashion as the "IAEP’s Jerry’s kids"

P.S. Don’t talk of olive branches when IAEP wants to continue to speak to people in such a disgusting manner......This is just more proof as to why we cant rest until IAEP is out of our lives

michelle,

please don't use my arguments, and then turn them around and **** on forfend.

also, don't simplify/ dumb down what I've said, I don't care or know what gender forfend is, i only took issue with the manner in which she attacked you- never said it was "guy talk" both sexes talk this way- I personally think its inappropriate in a public arena. an unfotunately now her words will be used against IAEP in general. Thats a shame.

as for your politcal stance, you are a fool to support virulently anti-labor politicians. but this is your choice and you are entitled to it. As for COPE, i think that if i belong to an organisation which is doing its best to protect my interests as a worker - that political organising is an important part of that process. I want my union to be politically involved in pro-labor politics, and i am happy for my dues to be used in this manner.

while i'm not a fan of forfends method, I'm equally annoyed ny the innocent/hurt/surprised act that you play. Even more so... I'm not a fan of my arguments being co-opted, stripped of all nuance, and replayed for devious purposes either.

Old Rhino,
I share your frustration when seeing insulting and pointless posts. I think it is obvious though that IAEP isn't trying to degrade anyone. Isn't obvious that people posting any negative posts are actually our very own coworkers? Are they IAEP staff members now? Aren't we all in this together? Medic One insulted me greatly many times, are you now saying I should take that as NESMA personaly insulting me? The only differnece here is that I have in my possesion actual emails from torren insulting me about my age and my 5 years of experience. In that case I believe I am entitled to thinking NEMSA may not be so kind to those of us who are young and have differing beliefs. I have not seen any insutling posts, or any posts at all from a single IAEP staff person. I do believe it is our duty to point out to people posting on here when they have crossed the line with insults and stuff, but it is not fair to say that IAEP is trying to degrade us. If you are going to stick strong to that, I have pages and pages of more documentation on NEMSA supporters crossing the line far worse. I do not believe all those NEMSA supporters speak for nemsa. I do have to admit it is hard to not think NEMSA is trying to degrade us when tim and torren write insulting emails themselves, but that was their choice, not yours.

There is a big difference between me and a NEMSITE.

I was content with 250.  I did not ask for change.  Change was imposed on me.  When I review pre-vote posts, I see insincere people that are willing to change their representation as often as emtmichelle changes anti-microbial treatments.  I do not want my work life to revolve around which of you is in charge of my representation.  You have made my worklife uncomfortable and strained.  People that used to be friends or at least get along now do not speak to each other.  This is not because the alter ego of Alis is out there participating in establishing permanent friends in ems but because threats and intimidations have been poured over our workforce.

I must openly apologize to all of you in the IAEP that want to bridgebuild and bring the NEMSA supporters in.  I am sorry.  I disagree that they should come in to the fold so soon.  I think that you should consider, the NEMSITES will work to subvert IAEP and they will run a decert campaign within a year.  We will be back to this confusion again very soon if you do not keep your guard up.

So first of all Mr Rhino Jerry's Kids dont have a mental defect, they have a genetic disorder that causes skeletal muscle problems.  If you want to use the misfortune of a childs genetic defect to insult IAEP supports at least know what you are talking about.  And I dont think that MD is anything to joke about.  Using a condition beyond a childs control to make fun of others isnt very ethical.  If we are going to start trading insults Im going to have to start talking about the obese ignorant hillbillies that NEMSA seems to attract.  Now that wouldnt be very nice would it?

I never called emtMichelle/Alis obese.

I just said that she had a creative method to fitting in at work.

Michelle is a real person, it is Alis in another dress.

That is such a brilliant post, it's one of my favorites.

I'm glad to see it boldly repeated.

You said Jerry's Kids.  We will never believe that has anything to do with the Springer show.  You cannot get out of this one.  You're trapped.

See ya out there.............

Just like NEMSA is prone to spinning the truth and subjecting the masses to their way of thinking.
