250/IAEP are removing Dissenting Shop Stewards

SHOP STEWARDS THAT DO NOT SUPPORT LOCAL 250/IAEP ARE BEING FIRED!!
 


In a direct violation of section 401of the Landrum Griffith Act, Local 250/IAEP sent notice to AMR that the member elected Stewards, 


 


“are no longer recognized by Local 250 as duly credentialed Shop Stewards. These employees are no longer entitled to represent Local 250 members and are not entitled to any other recognition accorded a Shop Steward.”


 


Local 250/IAEP have chosen not honor member’s election of their shop stewards.  All Stewards that do not support 250/IAEP are being removed from their posts.  Leaving members with no representation. Except to call a field rep.


 


Note: This is a direct violation of the Landrum-Griffith act.  The US supreme court ruled in Finnegan v. Leu that if  "the purpose of the dismissal is to suppress dissent within the union, it would violate section 401 of the Landrum-Griffith Act.  Which protects union members right to free speech." 


 


Their actions speak for themselves. 


It is time for change.

Thanks for your note. I am under the impression that you believe that all shops stewards have been removed. This is not so. Several stewards from Sacramento were relieved of their duties because they refused to turn over the keys to the Local 250 owned, locked bulletin board at Sacramento Operations. Furthermore, they filled the bulletin board with anti-union material from another organization.


We have informed those Stewards that once they turn in the keys to the Local 250 owned bulletin board, they will be reinstated. One of the Stewards, Dari Sargrow has returned his key and will be reinstated first thing tomorrow morning.


Please be clear, this action was not taken because of which organization these Stewards have chosen to support. If that were our intention, we could have done it months ago. We just want the union's property returned. Thank you.

Union's property returned, stewards responsible reinstated....it was never about their opinion, which some of them have made clear for months...DONE!
